The Project

Beginnings

Back in the year 2006, fellow classmates of the University of Awesome Campus Megaming and Goliath where talking about ideas for a project they had in mind. This idea was to make a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) like the ones they were playing in those days, like for example Conquer Online and World of Warcraft. They really liked the interactivity this games gave to the players with others over the internet, so a desire to make something similar crowded their minds, and so initial concept started.

They had many ideas and ambitions for this game, but unfortunately they lacked the skills and knowledge to actually pull through this project, as they were just starting college. They decided that if this project was ever going to see the light of day, they had to learn how to program from the ground-up to ever have a fighting chance at it.

Not too long after that, they were separated, each one taking their own path. Megamind transferred to the UNIVERSITY OF STUFF, and Goliath transferred to the University of Poop Campus. When that happened, as it would be assumed all talks about the project stopped and the project died. There was still contact between the two though, but not as constant as before, the project was never mentioned again. Years passed...

Radio Silence

While the years were passing, Megamind was still daydreaming on how the game was going to take place. But instead of thinking on its functionality he started to create a story within it, taking from the ideas both him and Goliath had thought out. The desire to make games never stopped for him, eventually being able to take a small workshop on game programming and finally working in an educational videogame for his Capstone Project. Considering the time constraints he and his Capstone team had, the project was a success being able to achieve its goal. And he and his capstone team created an official team. Be it by destiny or chance the team disbanded after some time.

Rebirth

During the summer of 2012 while Megamind and Goliath volunteered to paint the Church they both attended, a conversation lead to the topic of the project they had both started six years ago. Nostalgia kicked in, and a lengthy conversation of how they started things was brought.

And so it was decided, that the project should no longer be part of our memories, that is was time to bring the project back from the dead. Now a new team created, known as Dreamers' Compass and a goal set in mind, a new revamped project is taking place right as we speak, no longer an MMOPRG, but a turn-based RPG game with its own story, a personal project that we plan to see through the end, known as Project Rebirth.
